File 12 Recap

Episode 12 begins with Yukiko being questioned by 1st Unit again. This time they're asking her about her motive. But of course she doesn't have one because she's innocent. If they would just check they would know that she never even met any of the victims.
1st unit continues to suck at their job and tell her to just confess since everyone in Metro PD knows what she did.

Scene change!
The interrogation is over and Yukiko is in a hallway trying to make herself look cheerful before she heads into the 2nd Unit office. She jokingly considers confessing but doing so would mean that the real killer would be on the loose.

Scene change!
Yukiko enters the 2nd Unit office. Kimura is there as well and he brought good news with him. Err not sure if I'm explaining this right but he compared Yukiko's pressure distribution if she were to put on a men's size 8 shoe to the footprint found at the scene of the crime and they don't match. In addition, Kimura basically narrowed the possible suspects to six people with connections to the different groups involved in the case.
Yukiko realizes this was the stuff he was 'checking on' the night before. He was working hard trying to prove her innocence and provide a list of suspects. She's both happy and sad that he did it all for her as a friend and thanks him seriously.

Scene change!
Yukiko is back in the interrogation room. Despite Kimura's findings 1st Unit still tells her to hurry up and confess. She sighs and thinks to herself that everything will be okay because 2nd Unit will find the real killer.

Scene change!
It's night-time and Yukiko decides to eat at the cafeteria because she doesn't have any energy to cook at home. At first she's excited to eat but just as she's about to dig into her food she hears the whispers of women behind her back discussing that once she gets fired, one of them could take her spot in the 2nd Unit office and work with the "hotties".
Yukiko loses her appetite and regrets ever eating at the cafeteria. She's about to leave when Kimura sits down at the table to eat with her.
He tells her to not concern herself with those gossiping girls. When she tells him that she's okay he finally smiles and starts eating. But 1st Unit is there to ruin the moment. Like the gossiping women they can't believe that Yukiko has the guts to eat dinner at Metro PD. In front of everyone in the cafeteria, they tell her again to hurry up and confess. Kimura tries to be polite when he tells 1st Unit to mind where they're talking. But they don't even recognize Kimura without his glasses on (he took them off to eat). Yukiko tries to change the subject and 1st Unit goes back to insulting her.
Kimura is pissed. He stand ups and calls the trio incompetent if they truly believe her to be the murderer and juvenile if they think she isn't. If only they did their jobs properly would they see that Yukiko is obviously not the killer. After a few more cold words Kimura grabs Yukiko's hand and they leave the cafeteria.

Scene change!
They arrive at a park and the second they're face to face Yukiko bows to thank him. He apologizes for snapping back there but she just thanks him again. She tries to turn around and leave, keeping in mind Kimura's words to keep her distance from him, but Kimura pulls her into an embrace.
He can't bear to continue watching her force herself to be strong. She gets butterflies from the embrace but she shakes him off. She's trying to keep her promise to him and if he continues being nice to her she'll want more than just his friendship. She makes a second attempt to leave him but Kimura stops her again. This time he steals a kiss from her.

End of Episode 12

***Comments***
I thought Kimura was really cool in this episode. He's really good at his job when he was able to come up with the list of 6 suspects. With a few words he was able to defend Yukiko and humiliate 1st Unit. And finally! A kiss! A wish they made the CG for the kiss instead of the hug =/.

File 11 Recap

Episode 11 begins with Yukiko in the hallway of the Metro PD building, recalling Kimura's words telling her to not get closer to him.
She stops herself from sighing by refocusing her attention to work.

Scene change!
She's makes it to the 2nd Unit office and greets Eiki Yachigusa. They keep each other up to date on their investigations. Neither of them have anything concrete to go on. Just as they finish talking the 1st Unit stooges walk into the office. They're there to take Yukiko in for questioning regarding the crimes of murder, attempted murder, and delivering death threats.

Scene change!
Yukiko is brought into questioning. She's totally confused and outright tells them that it really wasn't her. But 1st Unit isn't listening. They have evidence against her. Her fingerprints were on the death threat, the letter was mailed from the post office closest to her house, and her card was found at the park stabbing. She continues to tell them that she doesn't know how all of that happened. But there's too many coincidences for them to listen to her.
She's baffled that they seriously suspect her. She has no alibi of the 1st murder because it was committed at 2 or 3 a.m while she was not at a stakeout. Urata, one of the stooges, laughs at her for not having a boyfriend that could possibly clear her name during that time. She just fires back that he doesn't have a girlfriend either. Anywho, the 'questioning' is really just 1st Unit pressuring Yukiko to confess and Yukiko repeatedly stating that she didn't commit the crimes. This goes on for awhile until suddenly the door to the interrogation room slams open to show everyone from 2nd Unit and Kimura.
Kirisawa is pissed. 1st Unit ignored basic procedures that required them to get permission from the head of the unit (him) by questioning Yukiko immediately. Their excuse? Kirisawa wasn't in the office at the time. 2nd Unit and Kimura are surprised to hear that her fingerprints were on the death threats. But unlike 1st Unit, they are able to reach the conclusion that she's been framed. She's moved that they all believe her.
She accidently makes eye contact with Kimura and it looks like he wants to say something but he doesn't.

Scene change!
Yukiko's in the hallway. A couple of days have passed since that last scene but the 1st Unit idiot trio continue to interview her for a few hours everyday. It's the same thing over and over. They try to make her confess and she denies everything. But word about the investigations have traveled throughout the department and workers have started staring at her and whispering behind her back. She's being avoided by the people she used to talk to, even Kimura (but Kimura is avoiding her because for another reason - not because of her being a suspect).
At least 2nd Unit believes her so she puts on a happy face and confidently walks forward.

Scene change!
It's 1 a.m and she finally finishes her reports in the 2nd Unit office. She tells Asano that shes leaving to put some reports in the crime lab's box.

Scene change!
Yukiko takes a peek into the crime lab as she puts her papers in the box.
She greets him and asks him if he's going home. He is. He's about to ask her the same question but stops himself.
He states to her that she has lost weight. She's a bit surprised by his statement and remembers how she hasn't had much of an appetite lately. When Yukiko tries to play it off as her trying to eat healthy he plays along. He says the murder case must be pretty tough on her and she makes a joke of that too. She tells him that she feels like the new office barbie with people always turning around to look at her wherever she goes. Kimura doesn't have much of a reply to that. Anywho, she asks him if Directer Osawa has some connection to the Kawasumi Group. They do. Kimura tells her that they've always had some secret agreement and that he's looking into it so he'll tell her more later. Then she asks him about what he's looking into. Apparently at the moment he's working on something else so her can't tell her. He similes at her and she quietly reminds herself to keep her distance.

End of Episode 10

***Comments***
I love the friendship and loyalty in 2nd Unit. They're always teasing her but they have her back when she needs it. It's very cute.
I don't know how 1st Unit still have a job or how they got hired in the first place >.> I'm guessing there were bribes and corruption.
I really like how Yukiko is handling the accusations and Kimura. She's keeping her head up and trying to keep her distance but it hurts to read that she can only pretend to do so.

File 10 Recap

Episode 10 begins with Yukiko drinking alone at the bar.
Agasa, the bartender catches her sighing to herself and asks her what's wrong. Yukiko asks if he could keep a secret before she starts to tell him and he says of course. To loosen her lips he gifts her a martini, which she gratefully downs. She starts to confess to him on her worries about work. How her card was found at the scene of the attempted murder and how there's a guy (*cough* Kimura *cough*) that doesn't want a girlfriend because of stuff from his past. The guy acts like he despises himself and she just wants to help him.
Agasa advises her to keep getting close to the guy. It would allow the guy to be freed of the little world he created for himself. Yukiko understands what he means and she makes a resolve to do just that.

Scene change!
Yukiko is alone with Kimura in the 2nd Unit office. Kimura is there to inform her about the analysis they did on her card. The results say that the card is real but they couldn't find any fingerprints of the murderer, victim, or her own. It leaves them going "Hmm..." Anywho, they figure that since the victim was a freelance photographer he may be connected to Monday (magazine).
Yukiko explains to Kimura that she's been instructed to distance herself from the case with her card because it's 1st Unit's case and they pretty much suspect her. He reasons that that's why she's so down and tries to cheer her up by inviting her to have dinner with him. She's happy that he's trying to cheer her up but a phone call ruins their plans. It's Kirisawa on the phone telling her to head over to Blast Promotions because they received a threat and that it's probably related to the murders.

Scene change!
They're in some green room in Blast Promotions reading the threat that requests for the resignation of 'Fumihiro Osawa' or he'll be end up like the other victims.
Yukiko reasons that Osawa might be the mastermind of the whole thing and she goes with Kimura to talk to him.

Scene change!
They're in Director Osawa's office to question him and he seems very irritated. He doesn't know anyone that would want him dead. It doesn't look like he'll talk but then Kimura steps in to ask Osawa if he has any connections with the Moriguchi Mafia or the Kawasumi Group. Osawa denys that he has any connections to both of them but is visibly disturbed when he was asked about the Kawasumi Group.

Scene change!
After they leave his secretary's office Yukiko and Kimura come across Kuromine Yuichi. Kuromine calls them useless for being unable to catch the murderer by now. Kimura explains to him that what they're doing isn't like a television show. But Kuromine dismisses it as an excuse. He calls Kimura a gopher, rips off his glasses, and pretty much calls his job as being lesser than detectives. But Yukiko has Kimura's back. In her defense she claims Kimura as being an excellent analyst. Kuromine starts taking jabs at Yukiko. She's not bad for a 'regular person' but he can't imagine being satisfied with her. If he already didn't make you want to punch him in the face you'll be wanting to with the next thing he says.
Kimura responds by grabbing onto the front of Kuromine's shirt, ready to punch him. But Yukiko stops him :( . He'll lose his job if he does. When Kimura does back off he asks Kuromine why won't he believe Fuka. But Kuromine understandably fire back that it's Kimura's job to clear up any misunderstandings. If it's true that there wasn't anything going on between Kimura and Fuka back then, why can't he tell him what they were doing together that day. Kuromine looks in pain as he asks this.

Scene change!
Yukiko and Kimura are oustide now. Kimura apologizes for having to put up with Kuromine while they were in Blast Promotions. But Yukiko tells him not to worry about it.  She's more worried about him and how he's feeling. It was obvious to her that Kuromine was saying those insulting things to her just because he wanted to hurt Kimura. He's surprised by what she says and just laughs at how typical it is of her to put others first.
What Kuromine said to her doesn't bother her at all because she knows that deep down Kimura wants to fix things together with him. She also mentions that it seems like Kuromine really wants to believe in Kimura. Kuromine thinks that Fuka (his girlfriend at the time) was cheating on him with his best friend (Kimura) but none of them tries to clear the misunderstanding because Fuka is dead and Kimura won't say anything. He just doesn't know where to direct his anger.
It's as if Kimura is enchanted by Yukiko because he can't stop staring at her after everything she says. Her heart starts to beat fast and she thinks she sees fire in his eyes. She's mesmerized by him as well. They get closer for a kiss but before it can happen a voice snaps them out of their trance. Kimura pulls away, blushing at first, but then his face grows troubled. He tells Yukiko to not get any closer to him and leaves.

End of Episode 10

***Comments***
Althrough I want to punch Kuromine in the face, I can't hate him. I can't hate him because like Yukiko, I understand his pain and frustration. That day many years ago killed two..three things for him? It killed 1) Fuka, his love, 2)His trust in Fuka and Kimura, 3) a best friend. What's really frustrating is that this misunderstanding could be solved really easily. By Kimura telling him the truth. This frustration has me directing my hate towards Fuka. And we don't even talk with her in this route. because she's dead! Ugh. That was a dumb request to make (for Kimura to not ever tell Kuromine) and it was dumb for Kimura to keep it all this time. Okay okay, so I know it's important to keep promises and whatnot but when a secret as a secret does more harm than good... why keep it? Kuromine is an angry guy and Kimura is detaching himself from possibly having emotions of love and such when he chooses to distance from others. Although we don't know much about Fuka except that she was good friends with the guys, I would like to think that she's in her grave or in heaven thinking, "Man. I was dumb to make that promise with Kimura." Despite all this, I feel like its good that there's a huge gap from the time of Fuka's murder and whenever Kimura plans to tell Kuromine. Both of them are older, have had time to think about it, and be pained by it. Also, maybe I'm remembering this incorrectly but they never bumped into each other since Fuka's murder until the current murder case. I think that's also important. Simple reason really. As curious about Kimura's secret I think Kuromine is, I think I was be super irritated if Kimura knocked on my door one day to tell me everything. I wouldn't be ready. I'd probably still be in my pajamas......Anywho, Kuromine's troubles don't give him an excuse to tear at other people so I believe that I can punch him without regrets.
