File 10 Recap
Episode 10 begins with Yukiko drinking alone at the bar.
Agasa, the bartender catches her sighing to herself and asks her what's wrong. Yukiko asks if he could keep a secret before she starts to tell him and he says of course. To loosen her lips he gifts her a martini, which she gratefully downs. She starts to confess to him on her worries about work. How her card was found at the scene of the attempted murder and how there's a guy (*cough* Kimura *cough*) that doesn't want a girlfriend because of stuff from his past. The guy acts like he despises himself and she just wants to help him.
Agasa advises her to keep getting close to the guy. It would allow the guy to be freed of the little world he created for himself. Yukiko understands what he means and she makes a resolve to do just that.
Scene change!
Yukiko is alone with Kimura in the 2nd Unit office. Kimura is there to inform her about the analysis they did on her card. The results say that the card is real but they couldn't find any fingerprints of the murderer, victim, or her own. It leaves them going "Hmm..." Anywho, they figure that since the victim was a freelance photographer he may be connected to Monday (magazine).
Yukiko explains to Kimura that she's been instructed to distance herself from the case with her card because it's 1st Unit's case and they pretty much suspect her. He reasons that that's why she's so down and tries to cheer her up by inviting her to have dinner with him. She's happy that he's trying to cheer her up but a phone call ruins their plans. It's Kirisawa on the phone telling her to head over to Blast Promotions because they received a threat and that it's probably related to the murders.
Scene change!
They're in some green room in Blast Promotions reading the threat that requests for the resignation of 'Fumihiro Osawa' or he'll be end up like the other victims.
Yukiko reasons that Osawa might be the mastermind of the whole thing and she goes with Kimura to talk to him.
Scene change!
They're in Director Osawa's office to question him and he seems very irritated. He doesn't know anyone that would want him dead. It doesn't look like he'll talk but then Kimura steps in to ask Osawa if he has any connections with the Moriguchi Mafia or the Kawasumi Group. Osawa denys that he has any connections to both of them but is visibly disturbed when he was asked about the Kawasumi Group.
Scene change!
After they leave his secretary's office Yukiko and Kimura come across Kuromine Yuichi. Kuromine calls them useless for being unable to catch the murderer by now. Kimura explains to him that what they're doing isn't like a television show. But Kuromine dismisses it as an excuse. He calls Kimura a gopher, rips off his glasses, and pretty much calls his job as being lesser than detectives. But Yukiko has Kimura's back. In her defense she claims Kimura as being an excellent analyst. Kuromine starts taking jabs at Yukiko. She's not bad for a 'regular person' but he can't imagine being satisfied with her. If he already didn't make you want to punch him in the face you'll be wanting to with the next thing he says.
Kimura responds by grabbing onto the front of Kuromine's shirt, ready to punch him. But Yukiko stops him :( . He'll lose his job if he does. When Kimura does back off he asks Kuromine why won't he believe Fuka. But Kuromine understandably fire back that it's Kimura's job to clear up any misunderstandings. If it's true that there wasn't anything going on between Kimura and Fuka back then, why can't he tell him what they were doing together that day. Kuromine looks in pain as he asks this.
Scene change!
Yukiko and Kimura are oustide now. Kimura apologizes for having to put up with Kuromine while they were in Blast Promotions. But Yukiko tells him not to worry about it. She's more worried about him and how he's feeling. It was obvious to her that Kuromine was saying those insulting things to her just because he wanted to hurt Kimura. He's surprised by what she says and just laughs at how typical it is of her to put others first.
What Kuromine said to her doesn't bother her at all because she knows that deep down Kimura wants to fix things together with him. She also mentions that it seems like Kuromine really wants to believe in Kimura. Kuromine thinks that Fuka (his girlfriend at the time) was cheating on him with his best friend (Kimura) but none of them tries to clear the misunderstanding because Fuka is dead and Kimura won't say anything. He just doesn't know where to direct his anger.
It's as if Kimura is enchanted by Yukiko because he can't stop staring at her after everything she says. Her heart starts to beat fast and she thinks she sees fire in his eyes. She's mesmerized by him as well. They get closer for a kiss but before it can happen a voice snaps them out of their trance. Kimura pulls away, blushing at first, but then his face grows troubled. He tells Yukiko to not get any closer to him and leaves.

***Comments***
Althrough I want to punch Kuromine in the face, I can't hate him. I can't hate him because like Yukiko, I understand his pain and frustration. That day many years ago killed two..three things for him? It killed 1) Fuka, his love, 2)His trust in Fuka and Kimura, 3) a best friend. What's really frustrating is that this misunderstanding could be solved really easily. By Kimura telling him the truth. This frustration has me directing my hate towards Fuka. And we don't even talk with her in this route. because she's dead! Ugh. That was a dumb request to make (for Kimura to not ever tell Kuromine) and it was dumb for Kimura to keep it all this time. Okay okay, so I know it's important to keep promises and whatnot but when a secret as a secret does more harm than good... why keep it? Kuromine is an angry guy and Kimura is detaching himself from possibly having emotions of love and such when he chooses to distance from others. Although we don't know much about Fuka except that she was good friends with the guys, I would like to think that she's in her grave or in heaven thinking, "Man. I was dumb to make that promise with Kimura." Despite all this, I feel like its good that there's a huge gap from the time of Fuka's murder and whenever Kimura plans to tell Kuromine. Both of them are older, have had time to think about it, and be pained by it. Also, maybe I'm remembering this incorrectly but they never bumped into each other since Fuka's murder until the current murder case. I think that's also important. Simple reason really. As curious about Kimura's secret I think Kuromine is, I think I was be super irritated if Kimura knocked on my door one day to tell me everything. I wouldn't be ready. I'd probably still be in my pajamas......Anywho, Kuromine's troubles don't give him an excuse to tear at other people so I believe that I can punch him without regrets.
