Since Ayaka missed breakfast she decides to head to the convenience store to eat. As she walks to the store Kenshi comes out of a van and invites her to tag along with him, promising to treat her to lunch.
Scene change!
He takes her to The Lily Center, an orphanage that his friend, Ikuo Endo runs. Kenshi and Ayaka start handing out juice to the kids as they cheer for his arrival.
Ikuo asks Ayaka if she's Kenshi's new girlfriend. Kenshi answers for her, stating that she's just a new employee at the restaurant. The children start calling for Kenshi to play with them so he leaves Ayaka alone with Ikuo. Ayaka admires Kenshi's popularity as he leaves and Ikuo agrees. The two had been friends since elementary school. Kenshi visits the Lily Center often because several kids in the orphanage lost their parents in fires. Ikuo was shocked when Kenshi became a firefighter since Kenshi graduated the head of his class from military school; he was on track to join the National Guard as an elite officer. It turns out Kenshi's father was a firefighter so that may have influenced Kenshi to switch careers.
Kenshi eventually returns to where Ikuo and Ayaka were standing. He's tired from seriously playing with the children so Ikuo offers him a cartoon of the juice he brought. Ikuo is grateful from him and his mother. Kenshi always brings food like juice and lunch meat to the Lily Center, saying that they're extra things from the restaurant. Suddenly, Ikuo brings up the topic of an anonymous donor that keeps sending money from overseas to the Lily Center. Ikuo is unsure about what to do with the money but Kenshi just tells him to use it. This gets Ayaka thinking back to the deposit slips from a foreign bank she found on Kenshi's floor (episode 2).
Scene change!
Ayaka and Kenshi are on their way home when Ayaka asks if he is the mystery donor to the Lily Center. Kenshi is surprised and she admits to seeing foreign deposit slips in his room the previous day. She's curious to why Kenshi doesn't just donate the money in person and if the money he donates is from the money he makes as a member of the Black Foxes.
Kenshi admits to everything. The Black Foxes recover items that were sold in the black market and return them to their original owners but sometimes they're rewarded with money. A lot of money. Kenshi doesn't need the money so he gives it people that need it, i.e the children in the Lily Center. Kenshi wants to support Ikuo whose dream was to open up the Lily Center since high school. Ikuo struggled a lot growing up. His father died in a fire when he was young so he was raised by a single mother. In order to help kids like himself, Ikuo saved money little by little since he was in high school to open up the Lily Center.
Scene change!
Atsumu greets Ayaka and Kenshi when they enter Le Renard. She wants to order some pork noodles but Takuto ordered the last one. Takuto rubs it in her face, still holding a grudge against her for ordering the last pork noodle in the prologue. She sits down to eat anyways and when she sits down Kenshi immediate gets a call on the phone so he heads outside.
When Atsumu asks where she went with Kenshi she replies that she went to the Lily Center with him. Atsumu isn't surprised. Turns out he helped Kenshi set up a Swiss bank account to send donations. Kenshi uses a Swiss bank account because they have confidentiality guarantees. Basically, Kenshi doesn't want Ikuo to find out he's the mysterious donor that's been donating (stolen) money. It also turns out that Kenshi's dad was the firefighter that responded when Ikuo's father was caught trapped in a fire. Kenshi's dad couldn't save Ikuo's father so he started sending money to Ikuo's family until he died (three years prior to the story) while on duty. Kenshi also wants to continue where his father left off, sending money to support Ikuo.
Kenshi finally comes back inside after finishing his talk. It was his friend on the phone inviting Kenshi to a mixer. But Kenshi doesn't have time for that crap, it's the same day as the mission. The three guys discuss on whether or not they'll use Ayaka during their mission (if they don't use her Hiro will have to dress up as a girl) but Ayaka chimes in that she'll help. She believes that stealing is a crime but she also knows that Kenshi is not a bad guy.
End of Episode 3
