File 8
Episode 8 starts with Yukiko and Kimura already on the island. In a field filled with pink flowers they talk more about the case. There's an incinerator by the greenhouse where the hibiscus is located. Kimura thinks that the murderer probably burned his blood-stained clothes and ropes there in order to get rid of evidence. In the crime scene of the first and second victim a ceramic yarn was found. That yarn came from a type of rope that doesn't burn unless in temperatures of 1000 degrees. Kimura thinks that they should look for more pieces of the rope by the incinerator and so they do.
Scene change with them now by the incinerator.
It's there that Yukiko finds a pin on the floor. Thinking it could be evidence she hands it over to Kimura but as soon as he sees her face he starts laughing. It turns out he's just laughing because she's covered in ash.
When he tries to rub the soot off her face it only makes it worse and he continues to laugh. After all the laughing though, he remembers that Yukiko called him for something and asks her about it.
Fast forward a bit. They're still at the incinerator but Yukiko is on the phone with 2nd Unit. She explains tries to explain to Tennoji that she's on Kasuga Island with Kimura looking for evidence.
But no one will listen.
She has to yell at them in order to get them to listen. And once she does she quickly tells them all about the evidence that she and Kimura have found and are investigating (footprints, pollen, rope, pin). She emails Tennoji a picture of the pin so he could figure out where it's from. They've done what they needed to do at the island so they turn around to buy a boat ticket back.
Scene change to them in some office. Surprise surprise. There are no more boat tickets so they have to stay the night on the island.
Scene change to them in a hotel. Another surprise. There is only one room vacant on the entire island so they have to sleep in the same room. Kimura offers her to take the first bah and she accepts. On her way to the bathroom she feels like they're much closer now. Fast forward a bit and Yukiko is finished taking a bath so Kimura gets up to go. While he's in the bathroom she's manages to spill hot coffee on her clothes and gets an email Eiki Yachigusa. He has news about the pin she emailed 2nd Unit. The mark on the pin is a symbol of some mafia. With this new information they can lower the number of subjects. Even if the pin turns out to be a replica. In the end they still have to wait for a forensics researcher. Too excited about the news, Yukiko forgets to put on new clothes and runs up to Kimura wearing nothing but her bra and pants. When she finally notices she screams and they both blush bright red. Kimura tells her it's okay though, because he wasn't wearing his glasses.
Kimura turns around to let her dress up. And thennnnn....
Scene change to them eating dinner at a restaurant. At the restaurant Yukiko bows her head in apology again but Kimura assures her that everything is fine.
He succeeds and they're back to talking about the case. They talk for quite some time. Apparently there are a lot of shady work that go on between celebrities and the mob. Maybe the victims knew something and were killed? Maybe. Anywho, the paparazzi get mentioned and Yukiko remembers all the mean things the gossip magazines wrote about Kimura. Once again he tries to reassure Yukiko that he's fine. He mentions that the bright side of the scandal was that he got to retire.
"pariah" means 'outcast' |
She asks him if that's why he changed his name and he tells her that his parents got divorced. He changed his name because he couldn't trust anyone but himself. He was able to live a life without any attachments to make things easier.
Yukiko is saddened by everything. She has never been hurt that much. She hopes that one day Kimura will see that there are other ways to live.
Scene change to the two back in the hotel room!
Yukiko tells him that despite having such a busy day, she had fun. And when Kimura agrees too, she's glad. She had been worrying because she may have made him talk about stuff he didn't want to mention. But after hearing that Kimura freezes. After some silence he apologizes to her. He shouldn't have told her the stuff he did. He tries to leave and clear his head but she stops him.
It's past 11 pm and he warns her about the situation they're in. The whole guy and girl sharing a room at night situation. But she's already aware of it and she's not worried because she knows Kimura wouldn't do anything to her without permission.
He disagrees with her but Yukiko keeps on going. She knows that he's not the kind of person that would assault a woman. And he disagrees with her again. When she asks him why he keeps putting himself down he grabs her by the arm.
The argument about who knows Kimura best, Yukiko vs. Kimura, continues. She tells him that even though he may feel like hurting someone, he wouldn't because he hates hurting people. He tells her whatever because he's about to hurt her but she corrects him again. She isn't the one he's trying to hurt, instead, he's trying to hurt himself. Despite his words she could see how upset he looks. She wants him to stop being so hard on himself. That's when Kimura let's her go.
He asks her what she was planning on doing if he really did force himself on her but she gives the same answer that he would never do such a thing. And even if he did she would admit that she would have some part of it. But most of all she would make him promise not to hurt himself. They apologize to each other in the end. Yukiko suggests that they go to bed but Kimura tells her that he really needs to step out to clear his head. And this time she lets him.
End of Episode 8
***Comments***
I mentioned last recap that this chapter is one of my favorite chapters of his route. I think it's because I really really like the story from here and forward. I like the previous chapters tooooo but I guess I'm just saying that it gets better from here.
Anywho. Hmmmm Hmmmm I think this is the only route that I've played in any otome game where I've fallen for the MC as well.
