Chapter Six leads with our heroine recalling what Hyuga said under the thicket. He had looked so lonely with Pochi when he had wished he could live like the dog.
The next day Hyuga and Yoshitsune meets our heroine doing laundry while on their way to the stables. The sound of the word stables brings a sense of nostalgia to her and she tags along with them. Apparently she's had experiences with horses because one of the more wild horses is calm and lets her pet its muzzle. In fact, she even feels like she can ride them. Hyuga whispers in her ear though about the fact he has to take care of her if she falls off but she's pretty darn sure she can ride a horse and so she does. And she's a natural at riding. Yoshitsune is wide-eyed in surprise and Hyuga mutters that she's rowdy. Together the three of them go out for a long ride because horse riding is great preparation for war, according to Yoshitsune. The men are even more surprised as she's able to keep up with them on the steep mountains. Yoshitsune is still surprised by her but also quite pleased.
She thanks her parents because it must have been them that thought her how to ride. They stop when the hear rustling and in the next instant armed soldiers come out of the thicket. Hyuga yells for Yoshitsune to take care of Inari as he leaps into the enemy. With Yoshitsune they ride their horses, weaving through the mountain path until more soldier emerge in the pathway trapping the two from both sides. Yoshitsune drops down form his horse ready to fight yelling at Inari to run. But he gets his back slashed and Inari can't leave him behind. She drops from her horse and tries to restrain the enemy soldier. She's having trouble until what appears to be Hyuga's shuriken strikes the soldier on his neck, sending him down. But it's not much use as they're both still surrounded by what appears to be Yoshinaka's retainers. A soldier draws his sword at the already injured Yoshitsune but our heroine readily covers herself over him, protecting him.
Hyuga comes to the rescue with his "Ashura Spinning Reversal," arrows striking down the enemies one by one. With the enemies taken care of Hyuga leaps his way towards Yoshitsune, making sure that he's fine. Since he is Yoshitsune asks how our heroine how she is. Thankfully she's uninjured but she gets scolded by him when he asks her why did she risk her life for him when she isn't s soldier or ninja and they aren't even master and servant. No matter the answer, he's relieved that she's safe and asks her never to repeat that act again. He turns to Hyuga to tell him he is lucky and proud and thankful to have Hyuga on his side. This gets the usually cold Hyuga to look surprised.
Time passes by and when Yorimoto (Yoshitsune's brother) learns that he has been betrayed, he orders Yoshinaka to commit suicide like they all predicted as well as the fact that Yoshinaka's troops were transferred to Yoshitsune's control. In response to the news, the Taira clan retreated west from the capital.
Despite losing moral, the Taira Clan is still in possession of power as they took Yorimoto's daughter's 8 year old son as they escaped, as well as taking the Three Sacred Treasures. Everyone but Yoshitsune is confused about the existence of the Three Sacred Treasures so he informs them that they are a mirror, a jewel, and a sword that symbolizes the power passed down from generation to generation during the imperial succession. Their new focus is to take back the emperor and the Three Sacred Treasures form the Taira clan. Hyosuke exclaims that Yoshitsune will surely become the next successor for his deeds but Yoshitsune flatly declines for all the wants is for his brother, the current successor, to be satisfied. I think it's also important to note that Hyuga is silent at his statement. When our heroine makes it back to her room she collapses onto bed with a fever and into the same dream she had before about the burning building with her parents inside.
She suddenly wakes up to Hyuga taking care of her. He made her a bitter cup of herbal tea which she thanks him for. She tell him of her dream again. This time there's more details. Her parents were helping her to escape from the Taira Clan but they were struck down themselves. Her body shakes as she confirms that she'll never see their faces again. Hyuga assures her she's alive since her body is warm and that her living is proof of her parents' love for her. She starts to cry as she claims that there is no one left in the world that she loves. It seems that Hyuga is about to say something when he holds her cheek and gazes at her eyes but we'll never know because Hyosuke loudly enters the room to check up on our heroine. A busy Yoshitsune was completely worried about her so he came over and he quickly leaves to tell him when he finds out that she's fine.
Hyuga goes back to reassuring our heroine that she is not alone and that there are people out there who love her. He leaves to go outside saying that Yoshitsune will be with her. She's happy for Yoshitsune's concern but she wants Hyuga to stay by her side.
