Shall we Date? Destiny Ninja ~ Hyuga Chapter 2 Main Story Recap

For Yoshitsune:

We left off Chapter One with Kazemasa sneaking up behind our heroine believing that she is actually a Heishi assassin. He had heard her conversation with Enya outside and found it unnatural that a princess of a noble family would know a lot about war and politics. And while that is someeee evidence to be suspicious about, Hyuga ultimately intervenes with words that echo my thoughts....

Too harsh?

Because what Kazemasa forgot to think about or consider was her reaction. If she were really a Heishi assassin then there should have been a tousle between him and the heroine by now. Also, she wouldn't have acted so suspicious in the first place but instead would've acted as the perfect noble princess. Hyuga sarcastically adds that maybeee she is actually a man. Kazemasa gets the point, sees he was stupid, and gets told to get out by Hyuga....which he does. Now it's just Hyuga and the partly dressed heroine in the room. Hyuga orders her to get dressed but poor thing, the heroine is too shaken up from the event that had just occurred and she haves trouble tying up her belt from all of her shaking. Hyuga looks at her sadly (so he does have a heart!) and tells her that Kazemasa didn't really mean any harm. That he was just trying to threaten her to see who she really was. She replies with a weak and trembling, "Yes...." that Hyuga gives into even more of his pity and bends to tie her belt for her.

That doesn't sound too bad actually....

Despite his in glare in the picture, he's kind when he finishes tying her belt and assures her again that Kazemasa isn't a bad guy, just a man faithful to his duty. This time he adds that he'll protect her, being careful to include that it's his order from Yoshitsune to do so. Hyuga just said the opposite of what he told her last chapter and the heroine is like me, wondering what the hell happened to taking care of herself by herself. Either way, she continues to take care of herself by herself. Hyuga's comforting has paid off and she finally stops shaking. They both seem relived by that and the heroine thanks Hyuga with a smile but Hyuga is on his period so he glares at her again, calling her a kid.

What the hell does this have to do with anything, Hyuga? xD

Anywho, Ofuku calls the heroine from outside asking if she's done changing yet and Hyuga comes back to his senses asking, "Say, why were you changing clothes?" Of course, just as a reminder, she was changing into commoner clothing lent by Ofuku in order to better assist the servants in their work. So off to the kitchen they go to prepare lunch. Hyuga follows along and doubts the heroine's cutting vegetables ability. And he's forced to eat his words as she surprises everyone, including herself, in her skillfulness at cutting up...stuff. But of course, this is another odd thing a princess of a noble family would know. She even knew that the Heishi residence was brimming with beautiful court ladies while Yoshitsune's lack of interest in extravagance has left the residence with few but capable servants. She and Hyuga are left to wonder who she really is though Okfuku just seems happy to have extra help. She even gets to help with the seasoning! Now it's lunchtime and everyone is enjoying the food, praising the heroine's cooking.

Let's just take a moment with Enya in adoring Yoshitsune.

Other than noting more on the warmth that Yoshitsune gives, at lunch they also discuss where they are in the battle with the Heishi. While it seems that they are pushing them back, Yoshitune feels like the Heishi have something up their sleeves. And because his hunches are usually right now, Enya volunteers the chance to sneak into the Heishi residence to find out. But as usual, uptight Kazemasa is still suspicious of our heroine. This time Enya has got her back and proves her innocence by bringing her close to him and making her blush. The worried Yoshitsune stops him before he can do anything and thanks the heroine again for the meal. When he asks her if Hyuga has been good to her she gets a pinched from Hyuga on her thigh xD. She can't say anymore but that he has indeed been nice to her while he continues to eat all innocentlike. ~~~~~ While our heroine walks off to do laundry later, she bumps into Hyosuke and they have a chat. They're like sibling ^^. He praises her hard work and calls it unfortunate that she has to be looked after by Hyuga.

To which our heroine replies with a "...Yes", that is if you make her.

Both the heroine and Hyosuke are frank people. They laugh that Hyuga is indeed a two faced kitty. (I added the kitty). Anywho, from this conversation we learn that Hyosuke is actually younger than our heroine :o. He warns her not to show her innocent smile to Enya as he's known as a lady-killer. Possibly to ensure her that he isn't hitting on her, he's quick to add that he isn't interested in women. And even quicker to add that no, he doesn't like men, but that he has a duty like all the other ninjas to defeat the Heishi army. When she applauds him for being so young and yet an aide to Yoshitsune he informs her that skilled ninja have gathered themselves around Yoshitsune. Enya and Hyuga are from the Fire Village, Kazemasa from Kaze-no-Sato, and himself from the Water Village. All four of them where chosen as the best and to aide Yoshitsune. And then we're off to the praisingYoshitsunetrain. He feels fortunate to work under the magnificent, humble, older-brother type Yoshitsune. Yoshitsune is the complete opposite of Hyuga. He is honest, unlike Hyuga. But that doesn't mean Hyosuke hates Hyuga. Even he can see Hyuga's capabilities. He gives some insight into Hyuga's past. Apparently he was a self-made man. While Enya is the son of a chief and therefore grew up well, Hyuga started off as a low-ranking ninja and rose up through his own merit. But then, cue Hyuga.

No can do, bro.

Hyuga glares at the both of them, ready to fire his insults. They were talking so much, why won't Hyosuke babysit her instead, that way he can be relieved of such a burden. Hyosuke tries standing up for her, saying she's just lost her memory but Hyuga continues his onslaught. She just probably got tired of her luxurious life of a princess from a noble family and fell on an unfamiliar road. But Hyosuke (and me) can no longer take anymore of his bullshit and pulls our heroine away into what looks like a hallway. He tells her to not mind anything Hyuga just said and tells her that she's strong for taking all that in without breaking out in tears. He also makes sure to tell her that once again he's not like Enya, hitting on her and everything. Instead, he offers his shoulder to cry on if she ever needs it.
