File 13 Recap

Episode 13 picks up from Kimura's sudden kiss in the park. When they finally part lips Kimura embraces Yukiko before she could look him in the eye. She hesitates to hug him back when she remembers his words, "Don't get close to me." But the warmth and protection from Kimura's arms makes her feel safe and she finally accepts his embrace, closing her eyes and pressing her cheek to his chest.
After what could have been a minute or an hour, the two pull apart from each other. Kimura looks at the ground blushing and tells Yukiko that he'll take her home since he was responsible for bringing her out in the first place. She accepts his offer.

Scene change!
They're back at Metro PD so Yukiko could get her belongings. When she exits the building she finds Kimura leaning against a pole. She notices by his tilted face that he must be deep in thought and starts thinking herself. Should she continue to let him be sweet to her? Should she keep her distance? She's not sure.

Scene change!
Yukiko and Kimura are walking in awkward silence to her apartment. Desperate to say something, she tries to make conversation about the weather. And it works. Kimura looks up at the sky agreeing with her. Yukiko is surprised and looks at the star-filled sky above. It's beautiful but Kimura mentions it probably looks better on Kasuga Island. On the night they spent at the island, Kimura was staring at the sky while Yukiko was staring at the ground waiting for Kimura. More silence follows and Kimura reaches out to hold Yukiko's hand. She doesn't make a move to reject him.

Scene change!
They finally make it to her apartment. After more blushing from Kimura, he finally let's go of her hand. Feeling the absence of his hand Yukiko starts debating with herself. Should she invite him in for tea? That's normal right? But no. She lives alone and inviting him in at night-time would give him the wrong idea.
Anywho, she finally turns to him and thanks him for walking her home. She promises to bring him more snacks as a thank you. The thought is enough to make Kimura smile. Just as they say their goodbyes,  Kimura's kind eyes suddenly go back to normal. The closeness that Yukiko had felt they shared just moments ago disappears.

Scene change!
Yukiko collapses onto her bed recalling the day's events. She can't get the kiss out of her head.

Scene change!
Yukiko greets an empty 2nd Unit office. She's confused about everyone's whereabouts until Kimura greets her. Kimura is back to normal, acting like nothing happened between them the day before. She decides to act the same way.
He tells her that 2nd Unit is interrogating a suspect and asks her if she would like to see it with him.

Scene change!
The 2nd Unit guys are in the interrogation room questioning their suspect, Kazunari Tashima. The guys confront Kazunari Tashima about the evidence against him. He denies the evidence against him at first, saying how they're just coincidences.
However,2nd Unit has so much evidence against him that he's cornered and he finally talks. He admits to being the murderer and Yukiko's name is finally cleared.

Scene change!
Yukiko is walking down a hallway trying to get back to the office after buying some cream puffs as a thank you for the 2nd Unit guys. But she remembers about Kimura first and heads to the to the crime lab in order to thank him first. The moment she steps out the elevator, however, she hears Tennoji's voice calling for Kimura and stops in her tracks. Tennoji asks Kimura if he hooked up with Yukiko yet. Kimura tells him that they haven't and that he has no intention of doing so. It's like a stab to Yukiko's heart when she hears him say that. But the surprise doesn't stop there. Tennoji tells Kimura that he's going to ask Yukiko out.

Scene change!
Yukiko is alone in the 2nd Unit office until Tennoji enters. She's in panic mode when Tennoji inches close to her to wrap an arm around her shoulders. She's about to reject his feelings but Tennoji interrupts her to tell her that he "lit a fire under Kimura's ass." Tennoji tried to get Kimura to take action in getting together with Yukiko by saying that he liked her. After she hears this she's immediately embarrassed at her misunderstanding. Tennoji's arm is still around her when Kimura enters the office.
Kimura blushes and apologizes. He's there to drop off some documents on his way to watch the interrogation. Tennoji runs out, remembering that he needs to go back to the interrogation room. That leaves Kimura and Yukiko left in the 2nd Unit office. But not for long. After he hands her the documents she joins Kimura in watching the interrogation.

Scene change!
They're back to watching the interrogation through a two way mirror. This time 2nd Unit is specifically asking the suspect, Kazunari Tashima, about the 2nd murder (the Blast Promotions one). Kazunari says he committed the murder in a dark spot by some hedges. But it's odd. How could it be dark if they were under a streetlight?
But Kazunari insists that he's the telling the truth. The streetlight wasn't on when he committed the murder. It sounds fishy but Kimura believes him. What Kazunari is saying matches with what the employees at Blast Promotions said about hearing screams but not being able to see anything. Anywho, back to the interrogation. Kazunari accidently lets it slip that he wasn't supposed to kill by Blast Promotions. yadda yadda yadda. It looks like Kazunari was a killer for hire. Kimura and Yukiko deduce that the fourth target is probably the Director of Blast Promotions so they head over to Blast Promotions together.

Scene change!
Yukiko and Kimura are at the security office to ask if the streetlight was on or off the day of the murder. The streetlight was off. The light went out and the security guard was told that it needed to get fixed ASAP. Technicians were immediately called over to fix it so the streetlight was working again the next day. I'm tired so I'll let the screenshots finish this recap.
