[Recap] Shall we Date? Love Tangle ~ Carter Harris Main Story Chapter 5

5.1
  • Lauren walks through the hallways of Lilac Court thinking about how Carter ordered her to live in the palace in order to take care of the leopard.
  • She decides to tell him that she'll obey his order but before she can, Carter calls out from behind her to tell her to get ready.
  • She's surprised that Carter knows her decision before telling him.
    • He knew because he overheard her pondering out loud in the hallways and because he knew she would prioritize the leopard first.
  • Lauren is happy that Carter acknowledges her as a researcher.
  • Carter offers to help Lauren pack up her things to bring to the palace and she accepts.
  • In Lauren's room, Carter helps by unpacking her boxes (from when she first moved in) while she finds things to pack up.

5.2
  • To break the silence while they pack and unpack, Lauren observes it must have been hard for Carter to commute from the palace to Lilac Court every day to hear her daily reports on the leopard.
  • Carter corrects her. It wasn't hard because he and Prince Henrik were living in the same apartment as her.
  • Carter finds a romance novel among her belongings. She's embarrassed but he's all, 'I read the first book and liked it.'
  • Carter is surprised she's into other things besides research.

5.3
  • Carter finishes unpacking and organizing her things.
  • With time left to spare before they leave, they have tea in his room.
  • Carter is probably  the tallest person in Lilac Court. According to Lauren.
  • She asks him about the time he and Prince Henrik looked after the leopard when they lived in the palace.
  • Carter shows her a picture of the leopard when it lived in the palace with him and Henrik/Henry.

5.4
  • Carter tells her the palace has built an animal habitat for the leopard and that her room is connected to it.
  • They finally drink some tea.
  • Carter asks Lauren why she researches the Kaleido leopards. She was captivated by the leopards as a child because her father would loved to talk about them.
  • Carter smiles remembering that her father's research team had saved the leopard once before when it was stressed out. Similar to whats happening to the leopard now.
  • To be continued...

5.5

  • Carter thinks that Lauren is the right person for the job of caring for the leopard and tells her not to prove him wrong.
  • His high expectations excite her.
  • While Carter gets the car and Lauren waits, Oliver hugs her goodbye, saying he will always root for her since they're friends.
  • Oliver tells her to call him if Carter bullies her but she believes she won't be bullied.
  • Lauren leaves with Carter to the palace by car where he tells her to start calling him Mr. Harris at work.

5.6
  • Calling him Carter in private, however, is fine.
  • Once at the palace he shows her to her room.
  • The next day Carter appears at her door to inform her of her schedule.
  • Henry pops into the room.

5.7
  • Henry came alone despite Carter's warning and the scandal about being a couple with Lauren still in the news.
  • Henry is there to ask Carter, his aide, about the location of his manuscripts for something.
  • Carter scolding Henry reminds her of Carter being strict with her during the first meeting. This makes her smile.
  • They part ways to continue on with their own business.
  • Once finished they meet up again to have tea.

5.8

  • Lauren is impressed with how well Carter orders the maids and takes calls.
  • Henry tells her that he fails to praise others when they do well because he expects them to do well (why praise them for what they should be doing kind of thing).
  • Carter won't work with people he doesn't trust. So it's like he is internally praising them, or something.
  • Several days later, Henry invites her to a gathering of the royal family members that night.
  • She accepts his offer and she finds herself with Carter and Henry at Carlo's restaurant.

5.9
  • Carter tells her to endure the night.
  • The royal family members introduce themselves. At the same time they talk down on Henry, commenting on how young his is and that he doesn't know his place to try and take the throne.
  • When on of the members claim Henry is socially inept for trying to bring back the tradition of the leopards to take the throne, Carter counters that it was actually the King's idea.
  • The passive aggressive assholes  of the royal family change their target to Carter. They accuse him of influencing Henry with strange ideas and poisoning the food.
  • Carlo comes in with their food and the mood changes.

5.10
  • After the rude guests leave, Lauren leaves Carter and Henry to talk.
  • Oliver messages her, asking if she's well and how lonely he is without her.
  • She smiles at Oliver's message.
  • She hears Carter yell, "I refuse!" behind her.
